Beginning Care @ Gentle Chiropractic “We Want What You Want.”
Initial Visit
We will welcome you when you arrive and make you feel at home. We have parking for you on-site in front of the office building. We ask you to allow 60 minutes for your Initial Visit to give us plenty of time to cover everything.
Preliminary
Consultation
The first step is to meet with your Chiropractor to discuss your health concerns and expectations to see if we can help and if gentle chiropractic is right for you. We will ask a few questions and do a lot of listening. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide whether we’re right for you. If we can’t help you we will refer you to someone who can. If we think we can help, and you agree, we will proceed to the next step which is an Initial Examination. Your preliminary consultation will take 10-15 minutes. There is No Charge for your preliminary consultation. Preliminary Consultation Only If you simply want to discuss your condition and ask a few questions to see if gentle chi-ropractic is right for you, you can book a free Preliminary Consultation Only. If you decide to proceed we will then need to schedule an Initial Examination.
Initial
Examination
Your complete examination will give us a clear understanding of what is causing your problems and what we need to do to resolve them. It will involve orthopaedic, neurologic and chiropractic tests, including assessment of your posture, flexibility and balance. If we feel it is warranted we may request X-rays or other tests. X-rays are useful in showing the alignment, degree of degeneration and presence of unusual findings in your spine. They are both an insurance policy and a road map for your care. If X-rays are required we will refer you to Auckland Radiology at 101 Remuera Rd. Your Complete Examination will take 20-30 minutes.
First
Adjustment
We understand that most people want to feel better as soon as they can, so if it is appropriate we will give you your first adjustment on your initial visit. We will explain exactly what is involved. Your initial adjustment will typically be very gen-tle and very conservative to help you and see how you respond. We may also give you home-care advice. Your First Adjustment will take 5-10 minutes. There is no additional charge.
Subsequent Visits
Second Visit
On your second visit we will review your examination findings, including X-rays and other tests. We will explain our findings, how they relate to your problem(s), and what we need to do to help you. We will recommend a schedule of chiropractic care based on your findings and tailored to meet your needs. We will let you know how long it is likely to take take to resolve your problem(s) and the costs involved. You will receive your second gentle chiropractic adjustment and we will give you home-care advice to help your progress. Your Second Visit will take 20-30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How Do Your Fees Compare?
Our fees compare very favourably with other good chiropractors in Auckland. We are not the cheapest and we are not the most expensive. However we believe that our service is as good, or better, than you will receive anywhere else and you can be sure that we will take very good care of you and do all we can to help you. - Can I Claim ACC?
Yes, you can get ACC if your injury is the result of an accident within the past 12 months. You simply need to complete a claim form when you visit us or bring your information if you have already made a claim elsewhere. - Can I Claim Insurance?
Yes, if your insurance policy covers chiropractic care. You can check your insurance enti-tlement with your insurer. Most comprehensive policies have some coverage for chiro-practic care and most policies cover X-ray costs. We will provide receipts to enable you to make your claim. - Do I Need X-rays?
Your need for X-rays will be considered on a case by case basis and this will be discussed with you at your Initial Visit. We will refer you for X-rays if we think they are warranted to ensure you get the best care possible. For most adults they add valuable information to your examination findings and provide piece of mind. - What Do You Treat?
We treat your spine and its relationship with your nervous system. Because your entire body is dependent on, and influenced by your spine and nervous system we help a wide range of conditions, from neck and back pain, to shoulder and hip pain, from headaches and dizziness to sciatica and neuralgia. We have successfully taken care of many clients after all manner of spinal surgeries and with all types of spinal conditions. - Do I Have to Keep Coming?
