Our Services @ Gentle Chiropractic “Less is More”

Chiropractic in a Nutshell

Chiropractic is a specialist profession that focuses on the care of your spine and its relationship with your nervous system. Chiropractors use adjustments to reduce the stress and tension of the muscles, joints and tissues of your spine and nervous system. This improves alignment and flexibility and enables your body to function better. Chiropractors are very effective at treating injuries and also in managing the ongoing health of your spine and nervous system. Chiropractic care is an effective treatment for spine related problems such as back pain, neck pain, headaches (including migraine), sciatica and balance problems (like vertigo and dizziness) as well as a great way to maintain your health and wellbeing.

The Gentle Chiropractic Difference

The Problems
With Traditional
Manipulation

Traditional manipulation, in its various forms, has been used for centuries to treat spinal problems with great effect. However, there are problems… For many people the process of having their body pulled and twisted into a position of tension, and the application of a sudden force, causes a high degree of discomfort, anxiety, fear, and sometimes pain and injury. Traditional manipulation often focuses on the EFFECTS (the joints or areas with tension), rather than the CAUSE (the critical areas that are creating the tension) and tries to force a change. This may cause instability, reduce the body’s ability to self-correct, and create a dependency on further manipulation.

Gentle
Chiropractic Is
Often The
Answer

Gentle chiropractic techniques allow you to lie in a comfortable, natural position throughout your adjustments. There is no need for twisting, tension or awkward movements. Gentle chiropractic adjustments involve very light forces that are both comfortable and reassuringly safe. There is nothing to be anxious or fearful about. Our clients describe their adjustments as relaxing and enjoyable. Gentle chiropractic adjustments engage your body and its innate ability to release tension. By addressing the CAUSE of spinal tension and stimulating a change they help create stability and your body becomes better at self-correcting.

Our Techniques

We have focused on mastering two of the most effective techniques in chiropractic today. Both are well established, well researched and utilise very gentle adjustments. They work extremely well together.

Sacro Occipital
Technique (SOT)

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is a comprehensive technique that combines the principles and understanding of chiropractic and osteopathy. SOT works to optimise the relationship between your pelvis (Sacrum) and your head (Occiput) and the function of your nervous system. See More...

Torque Release
Technique (TRT)

Torque Release Technique (TRT) integrates the key techniques within chiropractic into a unified approach. With TRT we use gentle touch and a specialised instrument, called an Integrator, to make very precise adjustments. See More...

Preventative Care

We believe that it’s much better to prevent problems than to try to cure them. When we have resolved your initial concerns we will give you specific advice to help you prevent problems in the future and to stay healthy. In general terms, exercise, nutrition and rest are important for your long term health. Your body is made to move and it is beneficial for you to do some form of exercise regularly. When you eat fresh, wholesome food with a minimum of sugar and additives your body does better. Managing your stressors and getting plenty of rest will also help. Regular “tune-up” adjustments are ideal for removing any build up of stress and tension in your spine and nervous system. Every day we experience stress, whether physical, chemical or psychological. Tension builds and dissipates constantly. Over time some of this stress and tension accumulates and shows up in the tissues of your spine and nervous system. Many of our clients get regular adjustments, often monthly, to help remove this stress and tension as a form of preventative care. Research has shown that people under regular chiropractic care experience… less pain and discomfort, better flexibility, less headaches, more energy, fewer colds/flu’s, less use of medication, better concentration, greater ability to handle stress, and greater overall contentment.
